Daisy Card - April Birth Flower

£2.50

The Daisy is the epitome of spring wildflowers. Either found tall and proud in cottage garden beds, or tucked neatly into lawns it has been a symbol of childhood for many, and using the flowers to make daisy chains is one of happiest and earliest garden memories for many.

While the Daisy looks like 1 flower it is actually 2. The golden centre (disc floret) and the white petals (ray floret) work in perfect harmony together, which is why the Daisy has long been a symbol of true love.

It has many other meanings behind it, from being a symbol of motherhood and childbirth, as well as love, beauty and fertility. By and far my favourite is a Daisy given between friends comes with promise of keeping a secret.

A6 Greeting Card of an original watercolour painting. This is painted and printed on Recycled Paper in my studio in West Yorkshire.
